MathICs

Workshop on task optimization and goal achievement

The meeting starts at 11:50 and ends at 13:00 in the main building of the Ibn Tofail University in Kénitra.

The workshop was organized to inform and work on various points of MathICs management, and its structure was that of an open work table where each attendee could express his or her opinion, doubts, comments, etc. at any time.

It started with the intervention of the project coordinator, who informed all the members of the MathICs team about the financial management of the first training to be held in Almeria. In particular, they were working on solutions to alleviate the situation caused by the increase in the price of airline tickets with respect to those existing when the project application was formalized.

Afterwards, the coordinator announced the completion of the tasks related to the selection and adaptation of the facilities where the acquired material will be installed. He also presented the status of the bidding processes in all the partner institutions.

The issue of the training program that would take place in Europe was then discussed: the total closure of the Moroccan borders has greatly affected the schedule established in the original training program. However, the Steering Committee of the project has worked very hard to create new deadlines and to adapt the existing ones so that the face-to-face training can still be considered. This has led to the suggestion that the last module of the training (a module of applications of the knowledge and skills acquired in the program) could be delivered entirely online. This does not imply any reduction in the quality of the training, due to the characteristics of this training module, which make it ideal for distance learning. Of course this change requires the approval of the PMB of the project in the first instance, and subsequently the approval of the MathICs European Project Officer.

Workshop on financial reporting obligations

This activity was organized in the main building of Ibn Tofail University in Kénitra from 16h45 to 18h00.

The workshop was prepared and animated by Maria Fernand.

Before the meeting, all needed documents for financial reports were sent including MathICs budget repartition and the Workplan of MathICs.

The meeting then provided an opportunity to explain in detail the financial reporting process.

The slides of the presentation given by Maria Fernanda can be downloaded here.
