Exchanging some ideas about the future cultural district of l’Hospitalet

Abstract

We exchange ideas from two meetings about the future cultural district promoted by the Hospitalet de Llobregat Council: The first a meeting of the local government directed at producers and stakeholders in the local culture, held behind half-open doors, and an alternative meeting open to a cross-section of everyone related to the culture sector. Reorganizing the ideas and presentations in those two sessions, and establishing a critical narrative, we generate exchanges, based on the idea that dialogue between local government and the alternative can create a truly unique framework for approaching the complexity of the city to generate cultural policy without leading to extremes of adoration or rejection. Opposition and indifference, or breaking with secularization of agents who make the city?
