Antonio Barreiro is Industrial Engineer (1984, branch Automatic Control) and has a Ph.D in Industrial Engineering (1988) both from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Since 1987 he has been teaching at the School of Industrial Engineering of the University of Vigo where he is Full Professor since 2002. He has been teaching in numerous courses on Automatica, Control Engineering and Systems Theory, at the Undergraduate, Master and PhD levels. The past and current research lines are, on the theoretical side: partial realization, fuzzy and neural control, robust stability of nonlinear systems, observer design, time-delay systems, energy-based control and hybrid and reset control systems. On the practical side: control of electromechanical systems, haptic teleoperation and automotive control.
