Full Professor of Systems Engineering and Automatic Control at the University of Santa Catarina (Brazil). Bachelor in Engineering Sciences at Universidad de La República (Uruguay-1983), Graduated in Electronic Engineering at Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina-1986), Master in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil-1989) and PhD in Robotics Automatica and Electronics at Universidad de Sevilla (Spain-1999).  CNPq researcher (2000-), coordinator of the training of human resources of the National Petroleum Agency Program (ANP PRH-34) (2006-2018) and Associate Editor of Control Eng. Practice Journal (2007-2018) and International Renewable Energy Congress (2014-). Has experience in the area of Control Engineering and Automation, with emphasis on Process Control, acting on the following subjects: control systems with delay and predictive control with applications in various industrial sectors, mainly in energy systems. He has published more than 80 papers in journals, one book, several book chapters and he was the director of 15 PhD thesis.
