The companies Prysol Engineering and Valener, Southern Energy Company, S.L. have provided an extensive set of records of hourly electricity consumption from various auxiliary industries representative of agriculture in Almería. Prysol Engineering was founded in 2003 and Valener, was constituted in December 2012 because of the experience acquired during 15 years of work in engineering, renewable energies, and high and low voltage electrical installation projects. The aim of both companies is to offer solutions in terms of energy efficiency and energy saving.
They have provided the project with data from five companies with different activities. To preserve the confidentiality of the technical and commercial information of these industries, only their activity data will be provided. According to the National Classification Code of Economic Activities (CNAE) they can be assigned to four economic activities, all of them belonging to the agro-industrial cluster: The first two are large marketing companies (CNAE 4631 – Wholesale trade of fruits and vegetables) that provide data from five fruit and vegetable facilities, the third is a plastic injection packaging factory (CNAE 2222 – Manufacture of plastic containers and packaging), the fourth is a biotechnology company dedicated to the production of auxiliary insects for natural pollination and pest control (CNAE 7219 – Other research and experimental development in natural sciences and techniques) and the fifth is a seed manufacturing company (CNAE 4621 – Wholesale trade in cereals, raw tobacco, seeds and animal feed) with data from three of its work centers.
