Bluefin tuna
(Thunnus thynnus,L.)

Bluefin Tuna. Thunnus thynnus, L. Large fish with an average adult weight of 300 kilograms. Generally silver in color except for the back that turns dark blue. The pelvic and anal fins are blue-yellow in color. Generally pelagic, they barely descend 100 meters deep, and have migratory habits. In May / June they migrate to the Mediterranean to reproduce and in September to northern Europe to feed on small fish such as herring and sardines.

Its red meat is of great economic importance for its delicacy, however, overfishing has greatly reduced its population
