The UAL’s interdisciplinary five-member team consists of physicists, chemist and engineers from the Chemistry and Physics Department and the Solar Energy Research Center (CIESOL). UAL researchers have an extensive experience in the modeling of phase transitions and complex fluid dynamics as well as in design and optimization of renewable energy solution approaches linked to sustainable development, societal trends and technology.
Since the beginning of the PCMSOL project, our team is in charge of the continual coordination, playing a proactive role, assigning clear tasks to the other partners (WP0). UAL team will contribute also to the other WPs devoted to study of melting and freezing of single PCM nodules by numerical simulations and experiments (WP2), installation of thermal energy storage tanks in the CIESOL building (WP4), and Life-Cycle Assessment and proposed system’s feasibility study (WP5 and WP6).
